The latest version of Android 13 is not only in the talks; if we are to believe in the latest news and rumors, the latest android version might launch with a name, most probably Tiramisu. This is a bit of a surprise as the previous versions were named 10, 11, and 12.  

 

When is Android 13 releasing? 

 

Right now, there is no set time for the release of Android 13, and no specific dates have been announced. Additionally, the Android 12 update was recently announced and is still not available in the latest sets of Android devices. 

However, looking at the track record, the Android 13 might be announced in early Q3 or Q4 of 2022.

Android 13 Tiramisu App Languages – the app language feature in Android 13, it seems like the users will be able to set individual languages for separate applications. 

Users can access the feature through the “App languages” in “Languages and input” settings in addition to the “App info” window. The selection of this feature will let the user alter the language of a particular app while not at all impacting the rest of the system.

Android Resource Economy – Android 13 Tiramisu TARE

 

With the Android 13 Tiramisu, Google will lay the foundation of the TARE feature. It is an abbreviation for “Android Resource Economy.” This feature will focus on the energy management of the device; additionally, the feature works with JobScheduler and AlarmManager policies. 

The new feature brings in the Android Resource credits, a currency related to the device’s battery status. Applications will be awarded credits based on the drainage of the battery, and these credits can be used as payments to execute tasks. 

 

Tiramisu Lock Screen Clock Layout

 

The layout of the lock screen can also be customized with the Android 13 update. As opposed to a big two-line square layout, the user will see the clock on a single line. 

This feature to customize the layout of the lock screen clock is another user-facing update coming with the Android 13. There is also a possibility that this feature will also appear in Android 12.

Will Smartphones get Android 13 “Tiramisu”?

To start, the smartphones expected to get Android 13 and the pipeline devices for Android 13 when it gets released officially for the masses are Google’s own Pixel phones. Including but not limited to:

The devices mentioned above will be one of the firsts and initial ones to get Android 13. It is rumored that OnePlus and Samsung might launch their own flagship smartphones with the latest Android 13 version after a few months. Still, there are no pre-confirmed dates whatsoever. 

In more news, OnePlus, Samsung and LG have announced that they will continue providing android updates to their current devices for close to three years. After three years, these updates will shift to only security updates in addition to bug fixes. 

This, however, only applies to the flagship smartphones of Samsung, OnePlus, and LG and not for budget devices. So, there is a high probability for your device getting the latest Android 13 Tiramisu.
